The intersection of good business strategy and care for people is the foundation of what we believe at Barry-Wehmiller.

We believe that we can operate with people and performance in harmony, not one in sacrifice of the other. Doing so requires patience and investment, but it is critical to having a thriving business that builds enduring value over time.

Fundamentally, businesses don’t create value; people do. When we provide meaningful work in an environment where they feel safe, valued, and trusted, amazing things happen. We see it every day across all our companies, all over the world.

I recently had the opportunity to discuss the way we think about people and business at Barry-Wehmiller on PNC C-Speak: The Language of Executives, a podcast by St. Louis’ legendary radio station, KMOX, hosted by Carol Daniel. These podcasts feature local and regional executives talking about relevant and timely business topics, giving insight on forward-thinking business approaches that disrupt the status quo and encourage business leaders to think differently.

We at Barry-Wehmiller definitely think differently than most companies. As we say often, the way we lead impacts the way people live, a concept that seemed to spark the interest of the hosts. I hope I was able to share our message of Truly Human Leadership and expose other executives to a new language in business. Something to really consider in their companies and roles as leaders.
