ST. LOUIS — May 11, 2018 — Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, a leading engineering and IT consulting firm, announced that it has opened a new office in Bellingham, Washington, strengthening the company’s growing presence in the Pacific Northwest. The new office is strategically located near a concentration of major oil refineries, and further advances the firm’s plan to expand its presence in the oil-refining, natural-gas processing and petrochemical sectors.
The Bellingham office is led by Design Group Director Matt Hamilton, who has spent most of his career as an engineer, project manager and program director, serving the world’s leading oil and gas companies.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity to lead our newest Design Group office, building upon our established depth of engineering capabilities in Bellingham and Seattle,” stated Hamilton. “We have selectively built our team to bring an extremely experienced and highly qualified group of professionals to serve the oil and gas sectors. Along with Design Group’s nearly 1,500 engineers, project managers and technical specialists, we are excited to bring our focused and efficient engineering competencies to our clients.”
The Bellingham office will work in close coordination with Design Group’s other engineering offices in the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle; Portland, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; and Kennewick, Washington. The regional engineering team will also be able to draw upon a deep bench of technical resources from Design Group’s 40-plus offices located across the U.S. and India.
“We are thrilled to have Matt and his team of engineers leading this expansion,” stated Joseph Wilhelm, Design Group Managing Partner. “Our expanding presence in the oil and gas sector provides excellent balance to the other major markets we serve, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and semiconductor, as well as a wide range of other industrial applications.”
