ST. LOUIS — July 24, 2024 — BW Design Group, one of the largest system integrators in the U.S., announces that former employees of Velta Technology, a leading provider of digital safety and cybersecurity solutions, have joined the firm. Already a leader in digital transformation and cybersecurity for the food and beverage, life sciences, industrial, and advanced technology markets, the addition of Velta Technology's thought leadership and talent expands BW Design Group’s capabilities to address the escalating need for cybersecurity among manufacturing and technology clients.
Working with Velta Technology is not new to BW Design Group, as the two firms have a history of collaboration.
“We have had a productive partnership with Velta Technology since their inception, built upon mutual respect and years-long professional relationships,” says Rob Hensel, Partner, who leads Digital Transformation at BW Design Group. “Since 2018, we’ve shared industry insights, explored collaborative opportunities with clients, and enhanced each other’s approach to securing plant floor assets for our clients. We’re thrilled to have them officially join our team.”
As manufacturers rapidly embrace new technologies to digitize and integrate their systems, the threat of cyberattacks increases in step. According to reports from IBM Security and Sophos, manufacturing is the top target for cyberattacks, costing an average of $1.8 million per attack, not including ransom payments or revenue lost from production downtime.
“Digital transformation requires huge amounts of plant floor data to be accessed, stored, and processed, and manufacturers must take proactive measures to secure their plant floor systems,” says Hensel. “BW Design Group and Velta Technology’s combined cybersecurity expertise helps ensure that our clients receive the highest level of protection for their critical assets, preserving manufacturing uptime, protecting their intellectual property, and keeping their customers’ trust.”
